Stick a fork in it. The New Stratos
is done. Reports kicking around the web have confirmed Ferrari

has put the nix on any hopes of a production run. As you may recall, the New Stratos prototype was built off of the bones of a Ferrari F430

. Pininfarina supplied the vehicle's carbon fiber skin, and Ferrari CEO Luca di Montezemolo
was so taken with the project that he personally put down a hot lap in the wedge. That affection was fleeting, however. The minds behind the New Stratos have reportedly confirmed Ferrari doesn't want to cooperate with any company that could build a direct competitor to its products.

Listen closely and you'll hear the sound of our hearts breaking, bit by bit. There is some good news in all this gloom, however. The group behind the New Stratos has begun talks with Renault

, and the French manufacturer may be keen to let the company craft a new take on the Alpine A110 Berlinette
. Game on.
<a

Of all the major international auto shows on the calendar each year, the Bologna Motor Show
may not rank among the most important. But it is vital for the Fiat
Group, whose numerous brands make up more than just one lion's share of the Italian auto industry. As such, it's not a show for Fiat to take lightly, and this year, it's coming with a whole mess of new debuts.

Discounting Maserati
and Ferrari

(who kind of do their own thing), the Fiat Group divisions are displaying a freshly facelifted version of the Fiat Sedici
, a Fiat 500
Nation Limited Edition, Lancia Ypsilon
Black&Red edition and four new specials from Abarth
.

Six years since its launch, the Sedici (Italian for Sixteen, the product of 4x4 - also known as the Suzuki SX4
) has been been treated to a minor facelift. Available in three trim levels, buyers can choose between a 120-horsepower 1.6-liter four or a 135-hp 2.0 MultiJet diesel in either front-wheel drive or selectable all-wheel drive.

The Fiat 500 Nation Limited Edition will be offered in both hatchback and convertible versions, of which a suitable 500 examples of each will be offered. The American version of the hatchback is painted blue with Stars & Stripes graphics, while the cabrio comes in white with similar graphics and a red roof.

The Black&Red edition of the Lancia Ypsilon, meanwhile, is distinguished by four color choices - two reds, a black and a two-tone black and red scheme - with either 69-hp 1.2-liter gasoline engine or a 95-hp turbodiesel.

Finally, Abarth is coming to Bologna in full force with four special editions. The 595 Turismo and Competizione models pack a 160-hp version of the Abarth's 1.4-liter turbo four with two flavors of style. The 695 Assetto Corse takes 205 horsepower to the track, while the Punto Scorpione packs a 180-hp 1.4-liter four for a 7.5-second sprint to 62 mph, distinguished by matte-on-gloss black finish and a special snowboard in an edition limited to 99 examples.

An additional "by Abarth" package is also on offer for the Fiat 500 TwinAir that offers some of the visual excitement of an all-out Abarth performance model without modification to the 85-hp two-cylinder engine.

Like what you see? Check out all the images in the high-resolution galleries - one above, one below and two more after the jump - along with the plethora of press releases detailing each of these new debuts.
Continue reading Fiat Group bringing bagful of new models to Bologna Motor Show

Official: Chrysler signs on as Official Car of the NFL... in the UK?

    href="http://www.autoblog.com/category/chrysler/">Chrysler, UK

Football is big in the UK, but when the Brits talk about football, they're referring to what we call soccer. Even so, American football has its fans in Great Britain, and not just when Peter Griffin got traded from the New England Patriots to the London Silly-Nannies or when the Marines stationed at our embassy get the night off to watch the big game.

In fact, the Chicago Bears faced off against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers last Sunday, not at Soldier Field in Illinois or Raymond James Stadium in Florida, but at Wembley Stadium in London. It was the fifth NFL International Series game played there in as many years at the venue that's used to hosting the other kind of football.

It's the kind of opportunity an American automaker trying to make a name for itself in the UK couldn't pass up. And since Ford
is well established there and GM is represented by its local brand Vauxhall
, that could only mean one company: Chrysler
. While Lancia
markets Chrysler models in continental Europe, the inverse is the case in the UK, where the American brand has a better reputation than its Italian counterpart.

And so Chrysler was there in full force as the Official Car of the NFL (in the UK), sponsoring the International Series (as well as the Super Bowl broadcast there), displaying the new Chrysler Ypsilon
and transporting VIPs around in Grand Voyagers
. The arrangement follows a similar announcement
between Mercedes-Benz

and the New Orleans Saints that saw the German luxury automaker acquire the naming rights to the Louisiana Superdome.
Continue reading Chrysler signs on as Official Car of the NFL... in the UK?

Well, we can all stop hoping for a new
Dodge
Magnum
.

Chrysler-Lancia CEO Saad Chebab told Autocar
that there will be no Touring version of the redesigned Chrysler 300

built for Europe, saying that wagon sales in the U.S. are not robust enough to justify development costs for a five-door version of the platform. If Europe isn't getting a Chrysler
wagon, we certainly aren't going to see a Dodge
version here.

The previous-generation Dodge Charger

and Chrysler 300 both spawned wagon variants, the Dodge Magnum for the U.S. market and the Chrysler 300 Touring

overseas. The Magnum was never a hot seller, though it had its fans - ourselves included
- and Autocar
says the 300 wagon was popular both in the U.K. and on mainland Europe.

But with Fiat

calling the shots now and post-bankruptcy budgets at Chrysler still tight, we're guessing any money that could have been spent putting a new Magnum on the road went elsewhere. Like rebadging the 300
and other Chryslers
as Lancias
.
<a

Official: How do you say "Chrysler minivan" in Italian? "Lancia Voyager"

The Chrysler
-Fiat
merger has already spawned some nicely badge-engineered Chryslers for the U.K. market
, and now comes payback. The 2012 Lancia
Voyager goes on sale in Europe this month, and if it looks like a Chrysler Town & Country
Limited, well, that's because it is.

Save for some rather tastefully applied badging identifying the upscale Italian brand - and the removal of the TC's chrome bodyside molding - we're hard pressed to see much difference between the U.S. and Euro versions of the people mover, at least on the surface. Underhood, however, Lancia will be offering a 2.8-liter common rail turbodiesel that's unavailable in the States.

While the diesel

is only rated at a meager 163 horsepower, its 265 pound-feet of torque is more than the Pentastar V6
gasoline engine, which is also an option overseas. Fiat says the diesel Voyager is good for 30 miles per gallon in the European combined cycle; the 283-horsepower Pentastar manages just 22 mpg in this application.

This would be the place where we would normally grumble about not getting the diesel version here in the U.S., but we're not going to do that this time. After all, it's just a Chrysler minivan. See the full press release after the break.
Continue reading How do you say "Chrysler minivan" in Italian? "Lancia Voyager"

There's nothing like Europe's enthusiasm for motorsports. While our nation's lawyers have cornered our high-horsepower endeavors into tri-ovals and road courses, Europeans have no problem setting up a few hay bales and handing over public streets to a slew of vintage rally kings for an exhibition of carbureted glory. Such was the case at the recent 2011 Rally Legend event in San Marino, Italy, where the town's quaint lanes were cleared for a pack of Lancia Stratos HF
racers.

The event also enjoyed a very special visitor: the newest interpretation of the epic wedge. A fan took the time to video a few passes by various racers, including the New Stratos, to give us all an idea of what the beast sounds like under a flogging. With 540 horsepower barking through eight very Italian cylinders, the New Stratos sounds like it looks; fantastic. Hit the jump to check out the clips for yourself.
Continue reading Sights and sounds of the old and new Lancia Stratos in San Marino

Official: Chrysler shows off new Lancia-based Delta and Ypsilon models

The spawn of the Chrysler
-Fiat

merger has made its way to the English market, in the form of the 2012 Chrysler Delta and 2012 Chrysler Ypsilon. If they look familiar, that's because these cars are cribbed directly from the Lancia
range.

The Ypsilon is available with Fiat's 0.9-liter TwinAir, which earned International Engine of the Year honors. If that's too small, there's a 1.2-liter four-pot and 1.3-liter turbodiesel available, as well. The Delta gets two different 1.4-liter options, including a 140-hp, 1.4-liter MultiAir four-cylinder. On top of the 1.4s, there are also 1.6- and 2.0-liter engines available.

Both cars have just gone on sale in the UK, and Chrysler hopes these reworked Italians will improve the brand's meager share across Europe.
Continue reading Chrysler shows off new Lancia-based Delta and Ypsilon models

Frankfurt: Chrysler 200 Convertible gets Lancia-fied as the Flavia Cabrio

Here in the United States, we're slowly reaping the benefits of the Chrysler
-Fiat
partnership. The adorable little 500

is starting to find homes across the country and much of the rest of the Chrysler lineup is about to get a healthy dose of Italian injection. Too bad, then, that we aren't exactly returning the favor to our European friends. After all, this new Lancia Flavia Cabriolet
is just a Chrysler 200 Convertible
with a bit of Italian frosting.

Still, the 200 Convertible is improved over the "I'll take the bus, thanks" Sebring convertible it replaces, and as it is in America, we can see it being a hot commodity among rental car companies throughout Europe. The much-improved 200 sedan
will not be joining its topless Flavia kin overseas.
<a
"Hello, Europe... are you ready to rock?" "We can't hear you!" "We said... 'Are you READY TO ROCK?!'" Well you're in luck, because it's nearly time to drop your tops and rock out to the all-new Lancia Flavia Cabrio
! Ignore your American friends when they try to tell you it's just a Chrysler 200 Convertible
wearing Lancia
badges, they're all just jealous.

The Lancia Flavia Cabrio is set to make its debut at the 2011 Frankfurt Motor Show
, along with a host of other new Lancia products. The 175-horsepower 2.4-liter I4 and six-speed automatic transmission come standard, and will make sure to push your butt back into its fine, fine (optional) leather. Sure, you can use the whole seat... but you'll only need
the edge.

Check out the Lancia Flavia Cabrio in all its high-resolution glory in the gallery. There you'll also get to check out the new Thema, Voyager, Ypsilon and Delta. Rock on!

*Update: engine layout corrected to I4

Report: Alfa Romeo 159 heading for the edgy dustbin of history

    href="http://www.autoblog.com/category/plants-manufacturing/">Plants/Manufacturing, Alfa Romeo

Say what you will about the Alfa Romeo 159

, but it's arguably one of the most attractive sports sedans on the (foreign) market. And when it's gone, it will be missed. But gone is precisely what it will be soon, as the Fiat
group begins its gradual discontinuation.

According to reports, production of the 159 has already ceased as the assembly plant in Naples where it's built is re-tooled for production of the new Fiat Panda
. The entire model line has reportedly disappeared from the order books in several keys markets, including the UK, while other markets continue offering the 159 from stockpiles built up ahead of the factory's temporary closure, but that means only four colors and one engine are available.

The 159 was a model mired by its shortcomings from the get-go. Although the Giugiaro styling turned heads, its edgy front end made for pour aerodynamics. The GM
-sourced platform didn't serve the car well, and neither did its engines. And while it was originally engineered to meet U.S. regulations, the brand's return to the American market was pushed back time and time again, and is still yet to arrive.

The departure of the 159 leaves a gaping hole in not only Alfa Romeo's but the entire Fiat group's line-up. Aside from the Maserati Quattroporte
and Lancia
-badged Chryslers
, the Golf
-sized Alfa Giulietta
, Lancia Delta
and Fiat Bravo

hatchbacks now stand as the largest passenger vehicles the company offers. And with the 159's successor - expected to be dubbed Giulia

- not expected until later in 2013, it looks to stay that way for another couple of years at least.
<a

Report: Chrysler 200 sedan staying home, only convertible going to Europe

Fiat
is getting ready to stick For Sale signs on the Chrysler 200
in the European market. However, it seems only the 200 Convertible
will be making the trip across the pond, where it will wear Lancia Flavia badging.

Why is the sedan stuck stateside? Fiat executives find it too costly to add a diesel option, and feel the 200 sedan won't sell well without an oil-burning powerplant under the hood. The convertible, however, is viewed as an attractive offering (in a manner of speaking) despite the gas-only powerplant.

Good news, American business travelers - you can now rent yourself a droptop Sebring 2.0 while jet-setting in Europe, too.
<a

If you miss the classic wedge shape of the Lancia Stratos

, there are a few things you can do about it. You could buy yourself a vintage example, which will set you back a pretty penny. Or you could have Pininfarina build you one based on a Ferrari

F430, and run the risk of legal action from Maranello. Or you could buy a KTM X-Bow
and bring it to the creative folks at Montenergy.

The Italian carrozzeria has developed a body kit for the Dallara-built carbon-fiber chassis called the Stratosferica that gives it the look of the Stratos with the handling of the Austrian motorbike company's four-wheeled track monster. The conversion will set you back 12,000 euros (around $17,300 USD), but a simpler canopy addition called the Monte Carlo is also available and will take you most of the way there for less cash.

An engine upgrade is also available to boost the Audi

-sourced TFSI four from 237 horsepower up to 310, which just sweetens the deal to a downright mouthwatering degree. Check it out in our galleries, or watch the pair of rudimentary video clips after the jump.

"We have now reached the right moment to step on the accelerator of the Fiat
-Chrysler
integration," Sergio Marchionne said this week in a statement regarding his appointment of a single management team for both companies. According to Automotive News
, four regional chiefs - North America, South America, Europe and Asia - will be in charge of Fiat and Chrysler effective September 1.

Marchionne will retain his position as Chief Operating Officer for North America. Gianni Coda, Fiat's head of purchasing, will now run the operations in Europe, while Cledorvino Belini - formerly the head of Fiat Brazil - will take charge of South America. Michael Manley, head of Jeep
, will oversee up Asia.

The newly formed Group Executive Council (GEC) is the highest decision-making executive body within the company, outside of its Board of Directors. In addition to the four regional COOs, each individual brand will have its own head, consisting of Olivier Francois (Fiat), Lorenzo Sistino (commercial vehicles), Harald Wester (Alfa Romeo

In the wholly owned Fiat
stable are its eponymous brand, along with Lancia
, Abarth

and Alfa Romeo
- plus, as of relatively recently, all of the Chrysler

brands. According to Chrysler CEO Sergio Marchionne, of all of those brands, the one with the greatest global cachet is Jeep
. Marchionne believes that Alfa had global chops as well, but Jeep remains "first and foremost."

And while Marchionne remains keen on creating global production synergies with his expanding automotive empire, there is at least one sacred cow. According to a new Ward's Auto

report, the compulsively sweater-clad CEO has a few words that will make builders of the Jeep Wrangler in Toledo happy - he thinks the legendary SUV's American heritage is too important to risk assembling it in any other country. This is heartening news, as recent chatter

had referred to growing global demand putting a strain on the Ohio plant, leading some to think that a satellite production facility could be established elsewhere in the world.
Hatchback, Fiat

Though the relaunch of Fiat
in North America has centered around the 500

, that's not the only model that the Italian automaker offers. Not by a long shot. And we're not even talking about rebadged Dodge
models like the Freemont/Journey
.

Overseas, one of Fiat's most popular models has long been the Panda
. The vehicle forms the basis upon which the Fiat 500, Lancia Ypsilon
and Ford Ka
are built, not to mention the Brazilian-market Uno
, making it one of the company's most successful and proliferative platforms. But even on its own, the Panda is a success in its own right.

In fact, the Panda has just reached its two-millionth unit built and sold, rolling off the line at Fiat's busy assembly plant in Tychy, Poland. The model in question (pictured above) is a red Panda Cross softroader with a 75-horsepower, 1.3-liter MultiJet diesel four - one of four engines offered across eight trim levels, in fifteen different colors with two drivetrain configurations. Follow the jump for the full press blast.
Continue reading Fiat produces two millionth Panda in Poland

Ferrari

is not exactly a company we'd categorize as territorial. Competitive, sure. But territorial? Hardly. Not when you the upper end of sister-company Maserati
's GranTurismo
range starts nudging into the Ferrari California
's market, and not when the Alfa Romeo 8C Competizione
attracted Maranello's customers, too. But the New Stratos
project seems to be a different story.

Like the original, the revived Lancia
supercar relies on Ferrari

mechanicals. And, as its creators point out, Ferrari chairman Luca di Montezemolo only had good things
to say about the outcome. But saying nice things and backing it up with support are two different matters entirely. All the more so for specifically getting in the way.

According to the project's website, they've reached a bit of an impasse as Ferrari is not allowing its suppliers - namely Pininfarina
, which put the New Stratos together - to take the car from the one-off it currently is to a limited production prospect. This despite the more than 40 preliminary orders its backers have received from prospective buyers.

As a result, the people behind the New Stratos are looking into other avenues for production. But while there are lots of coachbuilders out there that could probably do a very nice job at it, we have to wonder which of them would be willing to raise the ire of the Prancing Horse should they go against its influential management's dictates.
<a

Lancia Stratos at the Sachsenrallye in Germany - Click above to watch video after the jump

When we first got word that someone was taking the time to resurrect the legendary Lancia Stratos

, our minds immediately leapt to visions of the lethal little wedge meticulously dissecting the meandering ribbons of a rally stage. Apparently, that was exactly what was on Michael Stoschek's
mind when he had the newest Stratos
interpretation commissioned.

Stoschek recently entered his reimagined Lancia

in the 2011 Sachsenrallye in Zwickau, Germany, and spent the better part of the competition caning his creation around the course. What exactly does a 532-horsepower, Ferrari
-sourced 4.3-liter V8 sound like when spun in anger? Like the wailing of the gods.

We dig the fact that Stoschek is putting his darling child to work in the best way possible. At, 2,750 pounds, the Stratos looks to be a rocket on all accounts, and watching the machine careen through public streets flips all the right switches. But we aren't easily satisfied. We won't have a canary-eating grin on our lips until we see this thing tearing it up on a gravel stage. Hit the jump to watch the video for yourself.
Continue reading New Stratos gets rallied, needs more dirt

Most mega yachts come in white. Some cut a different path through the water with dark blue, forest green or even dark red hulls. But this, this is something else entirely.

The proud new owner of the 37-meter (121-foot) motor yacht you see here is evidently a certifiable car nut. He named his vessel Aurelia
after the iconic Lancia
coupe, and the guest cabins below decks after famous coachbuilders Bertone
, Pininfarina
and Zagato
, whose designs influenced the cabins' decor.

And there's something else here... what are we forgetting? Oh yeah, the owner had the aluminum hull painted baby blue and orange in tribute to the classic livery of so many famous racing cars, with a big number 10 on the side in reference to her hull number. Even the tender - a 14-foot Castoldi water-jet-powered runabout - has reportedly been decked in matching livery.

The tenth of its type to be launched by Dutch shipyard Heesen Yachts, Aurelia
has been fitted with four spacious bedrooms, each with en-suite head (that's bathroom to you landlubbers) instead of five smaller ones. It also has a salon with dining table and lounge space with bio-ethanol fireplace, and plenty of exterior lounging space.

A pair of gyroscopic stabilizers keep Aurelia
steady in rough waters for the comfort of all aboard, but you're not interested in stability, are you? Of course not. You want to know what she's got in the engine room, so we'll tell you: a pair of MTU 65-liter V16 turbo-diesels, each producing - wait for it - 3,648 horsepower, for a grand total of 7,296 horsepower. That's sufficient to propel her up to 30 knots (34.5 miles per hour). Which may not sound very fast, but keep in mind this floating mansion weighs 155 metric tons.

We've got the full press release for you after the jump and a full gallery of high-resolution images, so wipe off the old Sperrys and climb aboard.
Continue reading 121-foot megayacht en-Gulfed by classic racing livery

Report: Ford pumping $1 billion into Lincoln revival

Of Detroit's three automakers, Ford
may have emerged the strongest from the economic crisis, but its luxury division, Lincoln, isn't looking too rosy these days.

While Cadillac
has been steadily rejuvenating itself with exciting new vehicles, Buick

has reinvented itself from a stodgy old-man's brand into a fresh face of entry-level luxury, and even Chrysler
has a strategy in place by pairing up with Lancia
, Lincoln

appears to be spiraling downwards. The days of luxury behemoths like the Town Car
and Navigator
are behind us, and the brand's latest products have failed to fill the void.

Sources anticipate Lincoln's sales will drop below 80,000 units this year, but a plan is reportedly in place to nearly double that number by 2015.

So how does Lincoln expect to get there? According to reports, through a large cash injection from its parent company. Sources state that Ford is preparing to invest $1 billion into Lincoln over the coming years.

So what will Lincoln get for all those zeros? As many as seven new products. The Navigator will reportedly be phased out by 2016, and the MKT
is tipped to be dropped in favor of a luxury version of the Ford Explorer
. A Focus

-based C-segment sedan and crossover are also in the works, along with a new MKS
sedan.

Dearborn reportedly plans to differentiate new Lincolns from their Blue Oval-badged counterparts with fresh sheetmetal, higher specification levels and stronger engines. Will that be enough? It had better be, as Lincoln is reportedly asking its dealers - many of which lost their Mercury
lines when that brand was shuttered last year - to invest heavily

in their showrooms as an integral component in bringing Lincoln up to the level at which it can compete with its German rivals.
<a

New Lancia Stratos becomes a part of history - Click above to watch the video

The new Ferrari F430 Scuderia
-based Lancia Stratos
has been the darling of the interwebs since it was first teased in 2009. Over the last two years, it's made it from a simple sketch to a very real, very fast, very rare tribute to a true motorsports legend.

To give the car the introduction it deserves, its builders have combined footage of the original Stratos tearing its way through Europe's rally passes with film of the new car doing its thing on a modern race track. The effect is a hoontastic history lesson and tribute to both cars.

Unfortunately for us, the video is entirely in German, but the footage is cool enough to bridge any language barrier. The full 13-minute video resides after the jump. Continue reading.

Before Pontiac

unleashed the vile Aztek on the world, there was another, weirder car that bore the name. In 1988, Italdesign
introduced the Aztec, a two-seat roadster that made extremely limited production and carried a $750,000 price tag when new.

Sporting a twin-pod cockpit-style interior and slab-sided, angular design, this thing looks ready for intergalactic travel. Despite looking like it should be parked outside the Mos Eisley cantina, it sports a relatively pedestrian Audi turbo five-cylinder powerplant. The car's 220 horses meet the road via a Lancia Delta Integrale
-derived four-wheel-drive system.

The Aztec was built as Italdesign's 20th anniversary present to itself, and broke cover at the 1988 Turin Auto Show. Depending on who you ask, Italdesign built either 18 or 50 of the cars. Either way, you don't see these things very often. The seller is mum on the car's price tag, but thanks to its rarity, blue-chip nameplate, and stratospheric original MSRP, its a cinch this thing will break six figures.
<a

Lancia Delta Integrale special editions - Click above for a high-res image gallery

It's rare enough to find one Lancia Delta Integrale
for sale in North America. It's rarer still to find an example of one of the special edition cars Lancia made over the last two years of the Delta Integrale's life cycle. This week, though, Bring a Trailer is featuring two such cars from one Canadian seller.

The first car is one of 400 1992 Lancia Delta Integrale Martini
5 Special Editions, built to commemorate Lancia's fifth World Rally Championship. The Martini 5 also marked the first run of special edition Integrales. According to the seller, this one has been upgraded with Martini 6 decals, 17-inch Speedline wheels and a catalytic converter-less Group B exhaust system.

Inside, there's an aftermarket OMP steering wheel, Alcantara trim and a pair of delicious Recaro buckets. The seller says he still has the original wheels if the 17s are a bit much. Though the car is apparently street legal in Canada, it will need a catalytic converter if it's going to pass a smog test in Vancouver. Those of us in the States will have to make do with a show and display exception, or wait until the car is 25 years old before it can be registered.

The second car is one of 250 1994 Lancia
Delta Integrale Edizione Finale cars made specifically for the Japanese market. Like all Edizione Finales, this example wears Rosso Amarento paint, and carries a laundry list of the Delta's most desirable options. That means a set of anthracite gray 16-inch Speedline wheels, push-button start, carbon fiber trim, aluminum pedals, a passenger footrest and the same Recaro furniture that graces the Martini Delta. On top of all that, the Edizione Finale received a bump to 250 horsepower, thanks to revised engine management.

Both cars are available exclusively through BaT, though we doubt they'll be sticking around too long given their rarity and desirability. Unfortunately for us, they're priced accordingly. The 1992 Martini 5 car is listed at a heady $80,000, while the 1994 Edizione Finale is "just" $65,000. Head over to Bring A Trailer
for more.

You can't make an omelet, or so the saying goes, without breaking some eggs. So while it's unfortunate that the restructuring at Bertone

means the dissolution of its museum collection, it also means that its contents are going up for auction. And they'll be crossing the block at no less fitting a location than Villa d'Este
.

Those in the know will recognize Villa d'Este for the Concorso d'Eleganza held there every year, where the most gorgeous and rare of classic cars mingle with the finest concept cars unveiled throughout the year. This year's concours will mark the first time that RM Auctions
will be holding an event at the open-air show on picturesque Lake Como, and in addition to the myriad unspeakably beautiful classics on the docket, RM has just announced the consignment of six concept cars from the Bertone Museum, each one-of-a-kind in its own right and available to collectors for the first time.

The consignment includes the 1967 Lamborghini
Marzal, 1970 Lancia
Stratos HF Zero, 1963 Chevrolet
Testudo, 1974 Lamborghini Bravo, 1980 Lamborghini Athon and 1978 Lancia Sibilo. Each was a seminal design for Bertone, and each is expected to fetch well into the six and even seven figures. The Marzal, particularly, which was driven by Prince Ranier and Princess Grace at the start of 1967 Monaco Grand Prix, and the Stratos, the first prototype for the iconic supercar rally machine of the same name, are expected to sell for between €1,000,000 and €1,800,000... that's as much as $2.5 million apiece in equivalent American funds.

Have a look at the collection (sans the Lancia Siblio, images for which are en route) in the high-resolution image gallery below, and follow the jump
for the full details in the press release. Hat tip to Sea Urchin!

2011 Lancia Thema - Click above to watch video after the jump

The new Lancia Thema is little more than a rebadged Chrysler 300
, which gives Lancia a clear opportunity to celebrate the merger with an ad that references not only the Italian marque's history, but Chrysler's as well.

The first allusion in the ad is not to the original Lancia Thema, but to the 1950s Chrysler 300 - a bold move for Lancia

. Despite the fact that there is very little Lancia to the new Thema, the addition of Chrysler's pedigree to its marketing campaign is an interesting move. The only question is, will Lancia loyalists buy it? Check it out for yourself after the jump
Top Gear
as we know it now is in its 16th season of automotive mischief, hoonage and - somewhere in there - journalism. What we tune in for now, though, is a reborn version of a show that soldiered on from 1977 to 2001 before being cancelled and once again exhumed.

The original show only resembles the current version in two ways: the theme song is Dickey Betts' Jessica
and Jeremy Clarkson is one of the hosts. Beyond that, it's a whole different animal. Looking at these videos, it's a wonderful thing that TG rose from the ashes of its former self into the show it is today. Looking at clips of the original series, it's a wonder it lasted as long as it did.

For the most part, there a batch of dour presenters with bad hair and worse suits giving us the goods on the latest version of cars like the Lancia Beta or Rover 216. In some places, the future lunacy of the show pokes through, but for the most part it's a very tame, and, yes, boring show.

Still, the clips of historic TG are entertaining, if for no other reason than Clarkson's hair and denim jacket collection. Here's hoping that Top Gear USA will itself enjoy enough time to metamorphosize into something bolder, funnier and harder-hitting as well. Thanks for the tip, Ryan!
Every division in the sprawling Fiat
empire had something new to unveil at the Geneva Motor Show
this year. Starting at the top, Ferrari
presented the new FF
. Maserati
had the GranCabrio Sport
, Alfa Romeo
wowed with the 4C Concept
, Lancia
debuted the new Ypsilon

and the Fiat brand itself presented two new variations on the 500 theme with the Gucci edition and the stunning Zagato coupe

. Even its transatlantic partners in Auburn Hills were represented. The only one that was left out, really, was the Abarth
sub-brand. Or was it?

The marque's own show stand showcased the existing range (plus a new junior formula racing program), but there was a new Abarth on display across the hall at the IED

booth. Previously, the students at the Istituto Europeo di Design gave us the dramatic Maserati Chicane concept
, and this year they teamed up with Abarth for the Scorp-Ion. Emphasizing the "ion" in the name, the design study calls for an all-electric drivetrain, decentralized to each wheel and leaving extra space for baggage and two seats. The styling, meanwhile, is pure F-Zero from our childhood Super Nintendo days.

Check it out for yourself in our gallery of live shots from the show floor below and find the full details in the press release after the jump
Day 1 of the Geneva Motor Show
is done. Below you'll find every production and concept car that we could bring you from Day 1, but thankfully there's a Day 2. Tomorrow we'll show you what we didn't have time for today, as well as roam the show floor for those extra special vehicles that only the Europeans can come up with. Stay tuned because we're nowhere near done with Geneva.
Geneva 2011: 2012 Lancia Ypsilon is a tiny taste of things to come
Take a good long look at the Lancia Ypsilon

. If not because it's a vital new product for one of the oldest marques in autodom, then because it's also slated to wear a Chrysler
badge one day soon.

That Lancia

and Chrysler are getting closer than a couple of drunk teens after the prom is no longer a secret. They share a common CEO - both at the group and brand levels - and will act as each-other's agents in their respective markets (not unlike their counterparts at General Motors'
Vauxhall
, Opel
and Holden
units). Vehicles we know as Chrysler models will soon be sold in Europe under Lancia's umbrella. This car will be marketed as a Lancia in contental Europe, as a Chrysler in the UK, and possibly as a Chrysler in the States as well.

We ran through the full details of the new Ypsilon a couple of weeks ago when Lancia dropped the details, but if you want to see this upscale five-door Fiat 500
platform-mate looks outside the studio and on the floor of the Geneva Motor Show
If you jumped right into the Test Drive Unlimited 2 world
, you may have been disappointed to find a slew of bugs and server issues. Atari and Eden Games have been working hard to rectify that situation. A new update has been made available and it includes a variety of fixes, as well as a thank-you bonus item. The first batch of downloadable content for TDU2 thrown in the mix for free.

Called the Exploration DLC Pack, the downloadable add-on features new wrecks to find. The two new wrecks, once found, will put a rally-version Lancia Stratos
and 1969 Dodge Charger
in your garage (or garages, if you are progressing through game more quickly).

In addition to the extra vehicles, this update addresses the following issues:

		Casino performance has been improved

		Log-in time has been improved

Game is more stable across the board

Saved games are no longer corrupted

		Friend lists are now populated

		Invites work correctly

		Clubs are now online

It's clear that Eden Games and Atari have been listening to the masses, and are working hard to provide an enjoyable gaming experience. The update is being provided to PC users first, then it will filter over for console gamers.
Test Drive Unlimited 2 players get free DLC as apology for bug-plagued launch

Bummed that your launch experience with Test Drive Unlimited 2
was hampered by game-breaking bugs
and server outages? Atari and developer Eden Games totally
understand -- and while it's a little impractical to come around and give shoulder massages to everyone affected, they'd like to do the next best thing: Give away some free DLC for your troubles.

That being the case, the upcoming Exploration DLC pack
will be a gratis download. It will unlock the Lancia Stratos version Rallye and 1969 Dodge Charger in addition to fixing a whole slew of bugs, from login issues to repairing corrupt saves -- even adding an improved casino experience.

The content has gone live for the PC version already, with the console updates currently being approved by Microsoft and Sony, so they're expected soon.
<a
Once upon a time, it used to be that an automaker would debut one, maybe two new products at a car show. Then Lotus

came along and blew 'em all out of the water with five new concept cars. Now Lancia
is preparing to roll across the Alps and into Geneva
with - how many? - six
new debuts. Is the quasi-premium Italian automaker following the path set out by Lotus? Well, not quite.

In addition to the new Ypsilon

- a genuinely new vehicle debut - Lancia is also lifting the veil on a subtly refreshed version of the Delta. But that's not the end of it - they've also got the new Thema, Flavia, Flavia Cabrio and Grand Voyager. In case that last bit (or the title) didn't tip you off, these four are little more than Chrysler
models we already know (and in some cases love), albeit with Lancia grilles and badges.

The Flavia and Flavia Cabrio are Lancia-ized versions of the Chrysler 200

sedan and convertible, and are officially dubbed as "concepts" - a little backwards from how the usual path concept cars take to production, but globalization occasionally does strange things. The Thema is the Lancia version of the Chrysler 300
sedan. And the Grand Voyager, well...we hope we don't have to fill in the blanks on that bit.

Read more about Lancia's Geneva-bound range in the press releases posted after the jump, and visualize how your Chrysler would look with a Lancia badge in the gallery below.
