Though we still can't explain the technology, we're becoming big fans of projection mapping, as can also be seen in this video that has also been featured on these pages.

From what we can gather, a Russian marketing team called Radugadesign was behind this production, and we can only assume that a lot of hard work and some sinister numbers crunching from a swath of powerful computers and graphics cards went into its making.

As to why this presentation existed in the first place, we have no idea... other than some vague notion that it was produced for Marlboro . Yes, we're assuming it's the cigarette company. What Marlboro has to do with an Audi sedan, we won't even attempt to explain.

In any case, we suggest you see the results for yourself in the video after the break.

Good motorsports films don't come up terribly often, but now and again, we get lucky. In 2011, we were graced with the very fine Senna documentary , and it appears there's another period Formula One racing piece that could be worth watching on the silver screen soon: Rush .

We've known for some time that this project, which chronicles the 1976 F1 season-long battle between Austria's Niki Lauda and Britain's James Hunt, was in the cards, and we also knew that Ron Howard had signed on as producer . Howard, you may recall, is the Academy Award-winning force responsible for such films as A Beautiful Mind , Apollo 13 and Frost/Nixon . But we hadn't heard much about filming getting underway - until now.

Thanks to these new photos taken at Germany's Nürburgring by our friends at PistonSpy, we now see that work on the film has begun. We have to say, James Hunt's Marlboro-liveried McLaren looks particularly fetching in these photos, and it must be a thrill to see and hear these vintage F1 cars lapping the legendary Nordschleife.

We're already cringing in advance for Howard's recreation of Lauda's massive crackup at the German Grand Prix, a crash that saw him sever his right ear and suffer facial burns (you can see in-period video footage of the fiery crash after the jump). Lauda would return after missing just two races and storm back into the points chase in pursuit of James Hunt and his McLaren. Hunt would eventually win the World Championship by a single point. With the fifth season of Jersey Shore kicking off Thursday, the show's stars dotted the late night constellation Tuesday, teasing with tidbits about the upcoming episodes, an incoming cast member, possible spin-offs and the departure of a Seaside Heights mainstay.

Snooki, appearing on The Tonight Show, confirmed that Vinny Guadagnino, the cast's most down-to-earth personality, will leave at some point this season.

She said the hustle and bustle of fast-paced reality TV life catches up to him -- as it does to her, at times.

"Honestly, we all get homesick sometimes: The cameras are too much for us. It's like, 'Oh my God, go away!'" she said, admitting she's thought of packing her bags more than once.

"I want to leave every day but I don't! I just want to relax and do this, but Jersey Shore is amazing," she said. "I love my roommates. I love hanging out with them."

Snooki said that this season, we'll see a new personality called The Unit, a chiseled pal of The Situation's.

So how did he get his nickname?

"The unit ... well just think, he's packing, his unit," Snooki explained, adding she's "not very fond of him."

Before her segment ended, the Marlboro, New York beauty demonstrated her Snookify Me app -- which gives its subjects Snooki-esque makeovers -- on host Jay Leno and fellow guest Whitney Cummings.

Across town, Jimmy Kimmel welcomed "The Four Horseman of the Cultural Apocalypse" -- i.e., The Situation, Pauly D, Ronnie and Vinny, who opened up about his exit from the MTV smash.

"It got real for me for a little bit and I had to take care of myself," Vinny said, noting severe difficulties balancing his life and the show’s demanding schedule. "But you'll see -- a good thing ends up coming out of it."

The Situation chimed in: “It was a big shock to us ... he was like the voice of reason in the house.”

Pauly D got sentimental about his close pal moving out, saying, “You don’t know what you’ve got till its gone.”

Kimmel asked the fellas about their career plans beyond the mother-ship show, and Pauly D said he's starring in his own spin-off chronicling his career as a DJ, while The Sitch implied he's got something cooking as well.

"Everybody's got their own things going on," he said. "I don't know if we're allowed to discuss everything."

Fun fact: In addition to Vinny, cast members Sammi Sweetheart and Angelina Pivarnick have moved out of the house before; Angelina was replaced by Deena Cortese in the show’s third season.

'Tis the season for some fist pumps!

Yes, that's sexy, slimmed-down reality star Nicole "Snooki" Polizzi and her boyfriend Jionni LaValle decorating their tree in a pic she tweeted Sunday.

"Our first tree =)," the 4-foot-9 Marlboro, New York native wrote along with the tweet.

Snooki and Jionni have had a fiery ride so far, but since reuniting in August, after a two month break, it all seems to be firmly back on track.

After reconciling Snooki gushed: "Jionni's a great guy, so you know I'm so down to make Guido babies with him!"

Going on to claim: "When it's time to get married, I'll be an amazing wife."

Snooki has said she's not ready to get married at 23, but when she does, "[I want a] big ring baby!"

Snooki raved about Jionni in an appearance on The Tonight Show earlier this year.

"He's actually going to school to be a gym teacher and he's a wrestling coach for little kids," she said. “His family is awesome. They do Sunday dinner all the time. They're a great family."

"In high school, I really wouldn't eat," Snooki told The Insider. "I would only have lunch, and I would only have salads.

"It got so crazy that I would only eat a cracker or a cucumber a day and I would feel full.”

Snooki says she "would go into the nurses office every day and I would weigh myself. When she [the school nurse] realized that I hit 80 pounds, she was like, 'This isn't good.'"

She said that the nurse notified her parents.

"My parents told me, 'You need to eat, this is very dangerous,'" says Snooki. "So I gained my weight back to like 98, where I always was."

Two British men from Newcastle were fined a total of €6,430 for failing to declare cigarettes and tobacco on their arrival in Malta from Dubai on Sunday. Matthew Palmer Stewart, 34, admitted to importing 44 packets of Al Fakher tobacco and 400 Marlboro Lights cigarettes while Gary Jones, 29, admitted to importing 24 packets of Al Fakher. Mr Stewart was fined €4,004 - €1,500 of which is payable to Customs while Mr Jones was fined €2,426 - €809 of which is payable to Customs. All tobacco and cigarettes were confiscated and the two men were given a one month jail term, suspended for a year.
