Just shown at the European Bike Expo, this custom Moto Guzzi Griso from Ipothesys looks very well done, and like any well designed Guzzi should, it puts the visual focus right on the engine with minimal body work to hide the mechanicals.

Claiming a 10 percent improvement to the current 48.8bhp output as well as more torque, improved fuel economy and lower emissions, the engine is distinguished by it's seriously attractive new valve covers, which eliminate the plug leads, leading to a cleaner look.

We're beginning to think Australia

is the Promised Land. The wayward continent embraces all things motorized in a way that never fails to make us smile. Lately, we've become aware of the growing number of vastly talented motorcycle
builders coming from that corner of the globe, including Matt Machine.

Machine is responsible for a volley of well-executed bikes, including a Moto Guzzi
Mark 1 Le Mans that will stop your heart and start it back up again if you look at it for too long. A few video-oriented friends recently swung by the Machine farm for a few days to work up a quick flick on the man's inner workings as well as his creations. The result is fantastic.

The video after the jump is a well-shot ode to hand-crafting works of two-wheeled obsession. As Machine says, "It's about me learning how to use my hands and use tools and use my brain to build things from scratch."

Amen. Hit the jump to check out the clip for yourself.
Continue reading The inner workings of Matt Machine makes us want to build, then ride

Moto Guzzi
turns 90 this year, and for 40 of those years, the company's California
model has epitomized the Italian cruiser. Moto Guzzi is finally winding down the California nameplate, but not before celebrating it with one last special edition: the California 90. Each wears a unique orange-and-white paint scheme cowhide saddle, with a 1930s-style tank logo inspired by the original Moto Guzzi script. In addition, every California 90 will carry an identification plaque and features a comfortable cowhide saddle.

Power is supplied by the 90-degree V-Twin engine that has become synonymous with Moto Guzzi, with 74 horsepower and 69 pound-feet of torque. Despite its classic appearance, the bike features advanced braking technology in the form of dual-floating discs pressed by two four-piston Brembo calipers up front. A two-piston Brembo piece takes care of the rear.

Moto Guzzi dealers will ask a pretty penny for this special edition bike; expect to pay $15,990 plus destination. Hit the jump for the press release.
Continue reading Moto Guzzi celebrates 90 years with the California 90
